My Journey Begins

Hello World!

I decided to create a Blog to help me be more accountable on this crazy train I call my weight-loss journey. A few years back I had lost weight once before with Weight Watchers (WW), it had been the only thing that has worked for me! Believe me I have tried EVERYTHING!!! WW is what FINALLY did it for me. I think the reason it worked for me was because it wasn't just a diet it was a lifestyle change. It helped me realize how much I was over eating, helped me think to myself do I really need or want that? Is it worth those points? lol (you'll find yourself saying that a lot) I also like how I am not deprived of anything I just have to make sure I stay within range of my goals & account for all my points.

How did I gain the weight back you ask..well let's go back for a bit. For several years I had struggle with infertility & finally was told that I was infertile. Please don't be sad for me, don't  get me wrong I was blessed with have children from a previous marriage, I was Widowed from. Most of my children are grown & I was starting to feel the empty nest syndrome when I realized my baby was in High School & he would be leaving me soon! Aside from that I truly wanted another child in my new relationship, we talked about & decided to be happy with the children we had, I had 3 & he had 1, plus I had grandchildren. Anywhoot, at that point since my baby dream was taken away from me we decided to be happy with what we had & Thank God for it!I So at that point I was going to start do things for me, to make me feel better starting with losing weight. Once the weight was gone, guess what?! BOOM!!! I got pregnant! I was so surprised & there is so much more to that story, but I won't go into detail. Needless to say I was happy beyond belief & love my little bundle of joy more than you will ever know, who is now 15 months! Well needless to say I gained all my weight back, that I had originally lost the 1st time. I wish I could blame my baby, but I didn't gain it back till after I had her. See during my pregnancy I struggled with Gestational Diabetes, that once I had her I was eating everything I had been deprived from while I was pregnant! Because being pregnant & not being able to eat what you craved, well it SUCKED!  Now it's 15 months later & I have decided that enough is enough, I have to get back on the program. I get way to tired to easily, my back has started hurting again, I have started taking naps during the day & that has to stop! I need my energy back! I account it all to me being over weight.

So here we are again on my weight-loss journey with Weight Watchers (WW) they use the Point Plus (PP) System. Basically everything we eat has points, when you sign up with WW & weigh-in they will let you know how many point you can have. For me, I weighed (holding my breath) 195lb which gives me 27 PP per day to eat, I also get an extra 49PP to use through out the week (which we call weeklies)  just so you don't feel deprived. 1st time around I used my Extra PP in the beginning, but once you get use to the the program you will find that you don't use all your extras as you did in the beginning. Wondering how you can find out how many PP you can have without going to WW?
